2010: A Year In Pictures & Small Words

2010, was a life changing year. I became a Mommy! It was the most breathtaking moment ever, hearing your baby cry for the first time. I may have gotten a lot less sleep this year, but it's worth it all and I wouldn't change it for the world!
January-
We started out the New Year in St. Lucia.
February-
We told everyone that didn't already know that we were expecting a baby! (We only told family that were expecting). Chris turned the big 29.
March-
We started working on the nursery. We picked out and purchased our furniture.
I took my first "bump" picture.April-
We found out that we had a healthy baby girl!!
May-
We had a busy May with lots of birthdays and of course the start of cottage season! Though May had some sorrow as my 85 year old grandmother who I was extremely close with passed away.

June-
We were just as busy, with my sister in laws bridal shower and good friends of our got married!

Gosh, do I look pregnant in this picture or what. Not to mention it was like a 1,000 degrees out this day!
July-
We made our last trip up to the cottage till Kiley came, just because we didn't want to go into labor while on the island.
37 weeks pregnant:

We revealed Kiley's nursery to the world.

I also had my fabulous baby shower.
My yummy,beautiful cake:

August-
The month we we've been waiting for, for the past 9 months. Being pregnant for the first time you totally don't know what to expect going into labor. I've heard that labor comes when you least expect it and that surely was true for me. Chris and I went for my birthday dinner at Davio in Philadelphia, the waiter kept joking around that after such a good meal I'd go into labor. We played along with the joke. Never did I think that he would be correct. We came home and decided to walk the dog, well low and behold as we were about 2 houses away I felt something running down my leg, so we came home and sat down, and it happened again. At this point I figured I'd better call my OB, well 38 hours later this sweet, precious baby girl was born:

Last bump picture, 39 weeks and 1 day:

September-We learned what becoming parents was all about. We also got invited by Shop Rite to go to the NYC Food and Wine Festival. We met some awesome people, including Keely and Emily and their husbands. We also got to meet Tyler Florence, Ellie Krieger and Rachel Ray.

Kiley also had her first trip to the cottage:

My sister in law got married:

October-
Kiley had her first Halloween

November-We celebrated Thanksgiving with our families, Kiley had her first Thanksgiving.
We also started giving Kiley rice cereal. She had her first trip to the aquarium.

December-
I ran my first 5k! We had a great Christmas!

Kiley also started swimming classes and The Little Gym, she also got to play in her first snow storm!

We hope everyone has a safe, happy and healthy 2011!

Small Bits

We've been super busy with the holidays, so here is just a quick update, till we get back home and normal!
  • Kiley's 4 month stats officially were 12 pounds 5 ounces, 23 3/4 inches long, she was in the 50th percentile for height and in between the 25th and 50th percentile for weight.
  • We do not need to see a neurosurgeon for her flat spot on her head, with all of our hard work with tummy time paid off and fixed it.
  • She's finally in number 2 diapers.
  • We've started oatmeal, fruits and veggies!

30 Day Challenge

Over the weekend my sister in law, told me about an exercise challenge she was doing, so it gave me an idea, to start a challenge my self! If you want to join me doing it, just leave a comment and let me know your name and email address and I'll keep track of all of us doing it!

So what's the challenge? Here you go: Burpees, Sit ups and Push ups

The first day you start out doing 1, by then end of the 30 days you'll be doing 30 of each exercise. Each day you add an extra exercise. So Day 1, do once of each exercise, Day 2 to two of each exercise, Day 3 do three of each exercise, got it? Easy, right!

Let's go!

Just in case you aren't sure what a burpee is, here is a video:

We will start on Wednesday , December 15th!

Kiley is 4 months!

Happy 4 Months Kiley!
Look at you! You're getting so big! You look chubby in this picture but you are still such a a little peanut! You recently discovered this high pitched scream that you love to do! It hurts our ears, but it's cute, so it's ok. Puggie even turns her head when you do it! You love to stand up and talk to us. You rolled over once, we are still waiting for you to do it again. You love to lay on your play mat and just talk away to the world. You also love to move around on your mat using your legs. We can put you down in one spot and a minute later you'll do a total 360! You can roll to your side but your arm gets stuck and then you can't move! You are finally starting to fit into size 2 diapers. We go to the pediatrician in a couple of days so we will have your exact measurements then! But I'm guessing you are around 11-12 pounds now! You are still a champ at sleeping! Most night you sleep 9-7, eat and then go back to bed 7-9, but in bed with Mommy for the 2nd part. You love taking naps on Mommy, so far napping in your crib hasn't been successful, but that's ok! I love the extra cuddle time! We started giving you rice cereal, which makes a TOTAL mess. Not sure if you like it or not, Mommy tired it, so I can't blame you if you don't like it! Your still giggling a lot and it's so funny how many different laughs you have.

They day after you turned 4 months, was December 9th, which was a year that Mommy took a pregnancy test and found out she was pregnant with you! Also, December 9th, is the first time Mommy and Daddy met! Now that day will even be extra special!

You are really starting to grab for things and are aware of everything! You love looking around and discovering your little world. You've started swim class which you love and also The Little Gym, which you loved! The teacher said you were the strongest 4 month old she's ever seen! You still hate tummy time, but yet loved it at the The Little Gym, maybe we need some fun equipment here and then you'll like it!

You're a little stinker though sometimes, because you have a fake cry now. I'm now able to tell the difference of your fake cry and your regular cry! Sometimes though you like to trick us!

You are starting to get teeth! You have two little teeth on the back of your bottom gums that I can see! I can't wait for them to come out, though I will miss that huge gummy smile! You love putting your thumb in your mouth and chomping on it, heck you like to put anything and everything in your mouth!

Can't wait to see what you learn in this next month!
