So Sore!

Jillian Michael's is one of the trainers on The Biggest Loser. Before the wedding, one of her work out videos called The Shred, became really popular on The Knot, and I think just about all of us bought a copy! It says you can lose 20lbs in 30 days. While I'm not sure of the exact weight if any I lost from The Shred, I did notice more toning and shaping. The Shred is a 3 level program, you are suppose to do each level for 10 days, the first few times it's hard and it hurts the next day! Well fast forward to now and the other day on demand I saw Jillian's two new videos, the first one I've only done so far this week is called "Banish Fat Boost Metabolism".

I have to agree with Ashley, that this is hard. I loved it though, much more then the shred. You do 7 sets of different exercises 2 times each. It's also an hour long where the shed is only 20 minutes. I liked the boost metabolism one better, because it was more like taking a fitness/aerobics class at the gym. There is a lot of cardio at this and you don't use weights like you do in the shred. Jillian challenges you to use your body weight instead of weights, and honestly my arms feel like I've used weights when I really didn't. She mixes in some kick boxing moves in this and there is some jumping. Like any work out you can make it your own if you can't keep up with what they are doing or you just need a small break. I plan on using these in my work out regimen. I will probably use this one on days I don't run, and then use "No More Trouble Zones" on days I do run. Stay tuned for a review on trouble zones!

Movie Monday

Last night we watched the movie Fireproof. I'm really not quite sure what to make of this movie. The premise of the movie is that is a religious movie, there are many references to God and to the bible. The acting isn't that great and it's a long movie, about two hours, but I like the message that it sends, it's a very powerful message. In a marriage you really have to work at it and that you shouldn't give up so easily on each other like some do. If you really work at your marriage it can turn around for the better and not the worse. As you say in your vows, for better or for worse, this movie really proves that line. I do recommend watching it if you are married or to be married soon. This movie really made me thankful for the strong bond and marriage that Chris and I share.

Boston!!

We went to Boston for Chris's birthday present! We love Boston and have been there before. Though it was freezing we still had a great time. Friday night we got to spend some time with Jason and Carrie and their 4 kiddies. They are so cute! Then we met up with my friend Jess and her husband James. Saturday we did the Beer Fest, which is the main reason we went to Boston. It was a lot of fun. Chris and James had a great time. Though, I'm not a huge beer drinker I still had fun. Some of the beer types were crazy, such as one called the uber goober, it was a peanut butter and oatmeal beer. Chris found a favorite he really like called Mad Elf. It's actually brewed at a brewery in Harrisburg, PA, so we plan to take a trip out there sometime soon! After the beer fest we went to dinner with Grimace, Sarah, Geo, Shelley, Jess and James...yes a few knotties made it to Boston!! We went to this place called the Sunset Grille, they have over 112 beers on tap. I had two I really liked one was called Purple Haze and the second one was called Sam Adams Blackberry. After dinner we went to a bar and then headed down to Faneuil Hall. We walked past McCormick and Schmick(an AW for Chris and I), we had one of our "first" romantic dates there. Haha. Then we went to the same bar called Hennessey's that last time Chris and I came to Boston he chipped my tooth! But no problems this time. We had a great time and Chris had a great birthday and now he's 28!

2 hours later

And I officially changed my name!!! I finally went to the Social Security Office and changed my last name. There are sure some shady characters in that place. I was a little scared and texted Chris that, and he's like don't kid about that, I'm like no really I am. People were screaming at the workers and when I mean screaming, like cursing left and right because they couldn't get whatever they needed. I sat there for 2 hours it was annoying. I could tell when my number was finally called the person who helped me was relieved a bit that I had everything already filled out, once I got the counter I was out within 5 minutes. I then tried to go to the DMV but apparently their computers were down since yesterday, so I have to go back another day and probably wait there for a few hours! But at least I'm halfway done with changing my name, finally!

Movie Monday

This week we watched Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist. It was a cute movie.

It's been three weeks, two days, and 23 hours since Tris broke up with Nick. And now here she is at his gig, with a new guy. How could she have moved on so fast? This begins the night of Nick, Norah and Manhattan. The night of stripping nuns, hotel ice rooms, Russian food, psychotic ex-boyfriends and lovingly trashy ex-girlfriends. It's the night of Julio and Salvatore. The night of holding hands and writing songs and singing in the rain. It's a night they'll never forget.

Rent it!
